Timothy Mooney

Timothy J. Mooney is an Associate Attorney at KingBarnes, with a focus on litigation in Chancery, Probate, and Commercial matters. A lifelong South Jersey resident, TJ grew up in Atlantic County and Cape May County. He attended Villanova University and graduated with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Psychology. TJ went on to earn his J.D. from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. During law school, TJ worked as a summer associate and legal intern at D’Amato Law Firm, a well-respected Atlantic County law firm.

TJ began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Assignment Judge (ret.) of Atlantic and Cape May County in the Superior Court of New Jersey in 2019-2020. Throughout his time as a judicial law clerk, TJ assisted Judge Mendez, A.J.S.C. (ret.) in litigated Probate, Estate, Chancery, and Prerogative writ matters, which provided a foundation for the current matters he handles.

TJ serves as a Trustee on the Cape May County Bar Association and is an active member of the Atlantic County Bar Association, including serving on the Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee. TJ is a member of the Vincent S. Haneman American Inn of Court and serves on a subcommittee for the Inn. TJ has presented for the Vincent S. Haneman American Inn of Court on Wills and their statutory requirements, along with Partition actions in the Chancery Division.
